Krissy Matthews and the Viking blues band is the NEWEST and HOTTEST BLUES BAND in town ready to tear the roof off any stage they will grace!

Everywhere Krissy Matthews goes he leaves the crowd in awe. Nobody sounds like Krissy, which in todays world is becoming harder and harder to be identified with your own sound. Krissy shared the stage when he was 12 years old with the Godfather of British Blues John Mayall, received career advice from BB King when he was 15 and is the last musician to perform in the UK on stage together with the late great Jeff Healey. Krissy has performed thousands of shows across USA/China/Europe sharing the stage with artists such as Toto, Graveyard, Joe Bonamassa, Gregg Allmann, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Beth Hart and Joe Satriani. Krissy signed to German label Ruf Records in 2021 and released his last critically acclaimed record Pizza Man Blues and is currently in the studio between a busy touring schedule working on his next record due to be released early 2024. He is also a full time featured member of the iconic German Hamburg Blues Band for the last 8 years where he performs every night with great singers such as Maggie Bell, STOPPOK, Chris Farlowe and Arthur Brown.

For one night only in Skjaergards Blues Festival in Smøla 2023, British-Norwegian Krissy Matthews got together with Kåre Amundsen on Drums and Trond Hansen on Bass. Instead of playing his usual Krissy Matthews Band repertoire of complicated and heavy blues rock, they decided to go out and just play the blues. It was a very magical, beautiful and special evening with great music. Krissy said on stage " I do not get to the play the blues anymore with my regular touring British band. It is my first love. Tonight we are going to play the blues with no bullshit but a little rock and roll. I am having such a great time and we will do this again!" Krissy has decided to make a unique project exclusively for Norway. This is called Krissy Matthews and the Viking Blues Band (UK/N) and it will be a handful of Krissy's more bluesy songs but also the bands favourite blues covers featuring the incredible talents of Kare Amundsen on Drums and Trond Hansen on Bass. !
